Can I store the cakes in the box they come in?
The box is suitable for short-term storage but not for long-term aging. We recommend moving the cakes to a breathable, odour-free environment — a dedicated pu-erh cabinet or a simple cotton bag works well.
Are the sample sizes in the aged tasting box enough to brew gongfu style?
Yes — each 20 g sample yields roughly four to five gongfu sessions (110–120 ml gaiwan). It’s enough to become properly acquainted with a tea before moving on to a full cake.
Can I request a specific year or factory for a gift box?
At the moment, we curate the sets from available top-tier stock. If you need a particular year or factory for a large order, use the custom-order form and we’ll do our best to fulfil it.
How are the cakes wrapped inside the collection?
Each cake arrives in its original paper wrapper, then nested in pH-neutral tissue within the gift box. The packaging is designed to be archival — no plastics or glues that could taint the tea.
Is it better to gift a young *sheng* or an aged *shou*?
It depends on the person. Young *sheng* is vibrant and aromatic, thrilling for those who enjoy liveliness. Aged *shou* or older *sheng* is smoother and more contemplative — often a safer choice for those who might not be accustomed to high bitterness.
Do you offer gift wrapping or a personalized note?
All collection boxes include a handwritten note from the selector. At checkout, you can add a short personal message that we’ll print on a separate card tucked inside.
Can I visit a warehouse to taste the cakes before buying a collection?
Yes — our tasting room in Guangzhou is open by appointment. We also host regular vertical tastings announced on tea.events.
